CG of Customs Dissolves Strike Force Team

The Acting Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi has approved the immediate dissolution of the CGC’s Strike Force Teams. 

Adeniyi who announced the dissolution in a circular dated 17th June and signed by Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspection (E, I& I) Abba Kura directed all officers under the teams to return to their Area Commands or Units where they were drawn from. 

The Customs boss also directed the Strike Force Team Coordinators in respective zones (A, B, C & HQ) to ensure all arms and ammunitions are properly handed over to respective Commands/Units/Headquarters where they were signed from. The circular added that, “All operational vehicles are to be handed over to Controllers Federal Operation Units (FOU) and returns forwarded to Headquarters respectively.


“Coordinator Headquarters Strike Force Team should retire operational vehicles under his team to Comptroller Transport & Logistics. 


“Records of detentions, seizures, cases in court and any other vital record/information are to be handed to Controller FOUs across the Zones while Coordinator Headquarters Strike Force Team should retire all records under his custody to the office of DCG E, I&I.” 


“While extending the CGC’s commendation and appreciation for the services rendered by the Strike Force Teams, you are to ensure strict compliance with immediate effect,”
