The Zonal Coordinator, Zone ‘A’, Nigeria Customs Service, ACG Modupe Aremu has said that debunked the rumour that the Ikorodu warehouse is congested.
A press release e-signed by CSC Uche Ejesieme, the Zonal image maker, has stated.
ACG Aremu disclosed this during a working visit as part of her oversight function as the zonal coordinator, zone ‘A’ to the facility for an on-the-spot assessment of the general conditions of the warehouse.
The visit was to confirm some insinuations that the facility is filled to the brim, and therefore can no longer be readily available for deposition of overtime/seized goods.
During the visit, the ACG took time to inspect all the goods domiciled in the facility and engaged critical stakeholders, including the security and regulatory agencies on ways to ensure sanity and security of the facility.
The visit also provided an opportunity for a true assessment of the space in the facility contrary to the opinion advertised in the media, which suggests that the facility is overcrowded/ congested.
It can be confirmed that the facility can comfortably accommodate about 9,000 containers and other general goods.
The ACG was received by officer in charge, A.C. William Akpabio, who led other officers and stakeholders on the working tour.
Feeling quite elated at the conduct of the officer/men, the ACG charged them to ensure transparency and professionalism in discharge of their duties, to enable the service accomplish its mission and vision.
